This world is a shadow of the world to come. Just as you have work in this world so you will have work in the next. Do you believe you cease to exist because you stop breathing? Let me tell you a story.
Once there was a traveler who went on a journey. This traveler was searching for a rare fruit to quiet his unease. He knew he had a sickness and knew there was a cure; but he did not know the fruit's name nor where he could find it. So this traveler went from town to town, sampling all the fruits and hoping to find this rare, cure.
Similalry, each of us is on a journey. The malady is spiritual incompletion and the cure, or fruit, is Higher Consciousness/God.There are many worlds left for us to travel and in each world we experience our relationship to the Creator in another way. One day, when we come to the last town and the last fruit; we will realize anew all of these experiences were God and we failed to understand this. Then smiling God will open the door and invite us in.
Do you really think it matters how many things you own? Or is it really important, that is, of lasting importance, if you get that promotion at work or not. What is really important is your effort toward God and those you love and help along the way.
