Fundamentally, life is evolution; we are evolving into a higher version of self. All of the capacities are refined, slowly.
Like a rock that has been buried deep in the dark earth for millions of years; going through countless periods of heat and cooling; upheaval and sleep. All of this pressure and change necessary to becoming the rarest of stones. Then, after millions of years, one day the rock is uncovered by a miner and brought to a fine jeweler. This jeweler cleans the stone, polishes and displays it in one of his cases for customers to see. One day a young man enters the shop and selects the stone; yet, before it fulfills its destiny, the diamond has to be further cut and set; finally placed onto a silver ring to adorn a beautiful maiden's finger.
Life is like the journey of this rare stone; should the diamond bemoan the many years it was buried in the deep earth or merely acknowledge this dark hour was part of its journey necessary to reach the maiden's finger.
In all of this, the choice is ours. SB
