Recently, one of our readers commented 'that although he finds our writings interesting . . . we seem to be dancing about in them and never really get to the point."
Yes. This is an accurate description of much of our writing in this blog. For you see, we are trying to 'capture' an illusive essence through a written description. This spiritual essence is the core of all life; providing direction, substance, and form. Over the years, some have named this creative, life energy or force "God."
Within the context of Sufi learning, Sufism is often described as an 'attitude' or an illusive essence. This primordial essence and how to unlock the necessary 'attitude' to perceive it, is what learning on the Path is about. For you see, this essence is already inside us (it is the life giving spark or heart to our soul) and, in order to perceive this essence, we must learn to disarm and push aside for a moment every day thought patterns.
For the student, over a period of time, the teacher unlocks the capacity to perceive this esssence; this is through multi-faceted learning activity. Question and Answer being one of the many vehicles.
Purposeful activity on the Path, begins by "Remembering." Often this occurs is one glorious life shifting moment, when we Remember the object of our long search. This spiritual awakening is the rebirth of our soul and the spark is rekindled.
Through this awakening, and traveling on the Path, the seeker realizes the following.
1) There is a God, or life giving essence of spiritual energy, that supports and directs the universes. This energy is the mother and father of us all.
2) This God ( or spiritual energy) loves us and has created a way or path for us to merge and become One with him/her so we might better serve and fulfill our destiny.
3) This is the Path of Surrender; and traveling on this Path begins by Remembering who we are and saying/embracing/experiencing the prayer of Submission.
This, then, is the heart of the matter. SB
Greetings of Peace!
